I remember a Christian saint who says, quoting the gospels "In laetitiae, sine nola die crucis" (in joy, not a day without a cross) . A phrase that seemed to be contradictory but when you meditate upon it with more depth you will realize that it is true. Real happiness is rooted on the realization that we are never alone in our journey in this battle field called earth. Genuine happiness is not about the "he he...ha ha" nor the boisterous laughter of people which many times only superficial but deep within them is a feeling of hollowness, distress and full of fatigue. Difficulties, problems, contradictions, worries and sufferings are like the iron bars, stones and cement that strengthen the foundation of your edifice which is happiness, if you get to overcome them and maintain your peace and serenity knowing that you will never be abandoned. These problems and contradictions in the one hand appears to be causing us sadness but on the other hand they help us learn more about life and grow more mature. There are always two sides in every coin, we have to be quick in discovering both of them. With every dose of problems and difficulty that comes in our way, together with it, is the interior strength so that we can overcome them. This interior strength is called by Christians grace.

"Love is Deed not Sweet Words"
You are my everything
Life will be meaningless without you by my side
I will take the moon from the sky and hang it on your neck
I will gather all the stars in the night and put them under your feet
The waters of the seas may run dry but my love for you will stay the same
The earth may slip away from its orbit but my love for you will be firmly rooted
like the hammer of Thor on a strangers hand
The sun may stop shining but my heart will never tire of loving you
These are common words you hear from a person who says he is in love. These are common promises which are so sweet to hear and almost convincing. Words that may sometimes make a woman think that she is the luckiest human being in the universe. These will raise a felling of luck in a woman's vanity, a feeling even better than winning billions of cash in a lottery draw which you join for the first time. But it is just so sad to think that not even 50% of these promises and sweet words have made to reality. Many times the "I Love You" becomes "I Leave You".
And why?
Simply because in reality Love is deeds not sweet words. Spell LOVE through deeds. Always keep in mind that "Actions speaks louder than words" . A little effort is more appreciated than a long prose just as simple smile is better than a superficial boisterous laughter. Sacrifice is the secret of a strong foundation in every relationship. Love without sacrifice is like a wood infected with termites. It seems to look solid and firm by the outside but inside it is hollow and weak, give it some weeks and "ohhh" it disappear like it wasn't really there before.
SOP:Sing a Sad Song to make it Better.
When one day you feel like your carrying the weight of the whole world upon your shoulder. When you feel like the whole situation is so unfair. When you realize you've got nobody to turn to. When it seems that the Author of the universe is asleep and He does not hear your call. That time when you want to get through the peak of Mount Everest and shout out loud the word "ENOUGH". When sadness falls upon you, what do you do? What is your standard operating procedure to somewhat alleviate a little that heaviness you feel in your heart?
For many, when they are sad they locked up themselves in their room and cry till they run out of tears. Others would open a bottle and drown themselves in alcohol. But I've got another way of lifting out pain and sadness which I'm going to share with you.
When sadness fell upon me, my SOP is to get hold of a guitar or the piano whichever I come to see first and pluck its strings or run my fingers on its keys playing songs. What kind of songs? I used to play and sing sad songs to feel better. Never stop till you feel that the weight in your heart has gone. You may try this way next time you meet that thing called sadness which hopefully will lost its way.
