The Art of Being Always Ready

After the great earthquake of Nepal, the Phivolcs (Philippine volcanologist and seismologists) also forecast the expected 7.2 magnitude earthquake that is going to happen in the Philippines. This is according to the close study that they have been doing to the west valley fault that lies along  Marikina, Pasig, Quezon City, etc.
Earthquake prediction has been a long time obsession but until now it is still a very unreliable thing. Earthquake comes without any sign unlike the typhoons , storms and other phenomenon. If it is predicted it only happens in a matter of minutes. But earthquake forecasting is more clear like in the case of the west valley fault. We know that there will be a coming earthquake although we do not know when. For this reason everyone is ask to be ready for it. We have yo know what to do when the phenomenon happens so as to lessen life casualties.

What do we do when there is an earthquake?
Last July 31, the whole Philippines had an "earthquake drill"  particularly in metro Manila. This drill aims that the people will have a sort of "feel" when there is an earthquake. Why is this needed? It is good to have a drill so that we will know what to do when the phenomenon comes. This is like practicing for a play or a dance rehearsal. A practiced play is very much different from an impromptu act. Wrong moves are lessened, faults are corrected, unimportant parts are avoided thus it is more perfect. Hence in the earthquake drill we are prepared where to go and what to do.

Coming up.... What to during earthquake?
